Office 365 is Microsoft’s comprehensive package dedicated to ensuring a culture of collaboration, in a familiar interface. In today’s markets, physical proximity is unrealistic, and often unattainable, Microsoft have tackled this by ensuring that all areas of the Office 365 package are accessible on mobile devices.

A key aspect of the Office 365 package is the availability of real time collaboration on any document. Empowering deskless workers, each user can be editing the document on their mobile devices, and communicating using the instant messaging services in either Skype for Business or Yammer. Files can be shared to anyone inside or outside of the company directly from the document using the share function, either through upload to the cloud, or by sending as an attachment in Outlook. Importantly, the user is always in control of access. Constant backup to the Microsoft Cloud and One Drive mean that all users stay in sync with the rest of the team.

OneDrive provides several solutions to document sharing, users documents will remain private in the 1TB online storage until shared. Links can be provided, and specific account requirements set before the document can be accessed, as well as editing or viewing links. Documents and folders can be shared directly with specific groups within an organisation, to allow for multiple editors to work simultaneously on a project.

With many of the Office 365 packages Outlook mail is included. This offers business class email along with Calendar and Contact information across all devices. The use of shared calendars lets users see when other members of their team are available, create an event, and request a response as to whether they will be attending. Direct Skype meeting links can be inserted to emails for one click access to scheduled meetings.
