Domain Name Registration Terms

The following terms apply specifically to domain name registration services provided by Cloudworks.

Nominet Terms and Conditions

For .uk domain names, Cloudworks acts as an accredited registrar with Nominet, the registry operator for .uk domains. When you register, renew, or transfer a .uk domain name through Cloudworks, you are required to accept Nominet's Terms and Conditions of Domain Name Registration.

Before completing any .uk domain registration, you will be presented with Nominet's current Terms and Conditions and must explicitly accept them to proceed. Nominet's Terms and Conditions can be viewed at: www.nominet.uk/go/terms

By registering a .uk domain name through Cloudworks, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by Nominet's Terms and Conditions in addition to these terms.

Acceptance of Cloudworks Terms

By using Cloudworks' domain name registration services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. When placing a domain registration order, you will be required to confirm acceptance of these terms before the order can be processed. We recommend that you save or print a copy of these terms for your records.

Domain Name Registration Charges

Cloudworks provides the following domain-name related services:

  • •Domain Registration & Renewal: £10 per year + VAT. This annual fee includes all DNS record changes, updates, and management throughout the registration period.
  • •Domain Transfer In: Free of charge. When transferring a domain to Cloudworks, the standard annual fee of £10 + VAT will apply from your next renewal date.
  • •Domain Transfer Out: Free of charge. No fees are applied for transferring your domain away from Cloudworks.

All prices are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

Expired and Expiring Domain Names

Cloudworks handles expired and expiring domain name registrations as follows:

  • •Renewal Reminders: We will send you email reminders at 60 days, 30 days, 14 days, and 7 days before your domain expiry date.
  • •Expiry: If a domain is not renewed before the expiry date, it may be suspended and your website and email services associated with that domain may cease to function.
  • •Grace Period: For .uk domains, Nominet provides a grace period after expiry during which the domain may still be renewed. We will notify you of this option where applicable.
  • •Deletion: If a domain is not renewed within the applicable grace period, it will be deleted and become available for registration by third parties. Cloudworks cannot guarantee recovery of deleted domains.

Domain Renewal Process

To renew your domain name:

  • •Contact Cloudworks via email, phone, or through your account manager to request renewal.
  • •Renewals can be processed for periods of 1 to 10 years, depending on the domain type.
  • •Payment must be received before the renewal can be processed with the registry.
  • •Renewal charges are based on our current pricing at the time of renewal and will be confirmed before processing.

For customers on managed service agreements, domain renewals may be included within your contract and handled automatically by Cloudworks.

Domain Transfers and Contract Termination

If you wish to transfer your domain names to another registrar or terminate your contract with Cloudworks:

  • •Transfer Out: Cloudworks does not charge a fee for transferring domain names away to another registrar. We will provide the necessary authorisation codes (IPS tags for .uk domains) upon request.
  • •Transfer Process: For .uk domains, you can request a change of registrar by contacting us. We will update the IPS tag to your new registrar within 5 working days of your request.
  • •Outstanding Fees: Any outstanding fees for domain services already provided must be settled before a transfer can be processed.
  • •No Refunds: Domain registration fees are non-refundable. If you transfer a domain before the end of its registration period, no refund will be provided for the unused portion.
