Can Microsoft teams replace my phone system?

Yes - Teams Voice has a Cloud-based PBX (techie lingo for phone system). With this cloud-based PBX, you can setup hunt groups, call routing, auto attendants, voicemails and everything else you need from a business phone system.

What devices can I use with Teams Voice

Teams Voice is designed to be used with the Teams app on your desktop computer and mobile device. You can purchase desk phones if required from a number of suppliers to complement the software-based phones.

How do I enable voice in Microsoft teams?

To enable voice in teams over a PSTN (the phone network) you need a valid CAL. Apply the CAL to your users, then configure phone numbers and inbound routing. The client devices (including the Teams software) has Voice functionality built-in and requires no changes.

How much does Microsoft Teams Voice cost?

Teams voice requires each user to have a cloud phone system license, and a calling plan. These are combined in the Microsoft 365 Business Voice, currently priced at £9 per user per month (until April 2021, where the price increases to £12 per user per month. This includes 1200 minutes of domestic calls, a cloud phone system and dial-in conferencing. International calling can be added for an additional charge.

Can I bring my own phone number?

Transferring your existing business phone numbers is similar to moving a number on a mobile phone provider. It's very simple and has been done many times before, When your number has been migrated, Microsoft will be your VOIP provider
